{"id":2231,"date":"2011-01-25T16:05:35","date_gmt":"2011-01-26T00:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=2231"},"modified":"2011-02-03T16:44:12","modified_gmt":"2011-02-04T00:44:12","slug":"bertrand-sicot-declares-he-will-be-a-cswp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=2231","title":{"rendered":"Bertrand Sicot declares he will be a CSWP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At SolidWorks World, there are a lot of events.\u00a0 One of the more interesting events is the Press Event.\u00a0 This event is held in honor of the Press attendees.\u00a0 It gives them a chance to connect directly with SolidWorks employees and leadership.\u00a0 Bernard Charles, CEO of Dassault\u00a0Systemes,\u00a0and Bertrand Sicot, CEO of the SolidWorks subsidiary, were both on-hand at this year&#8217;s Press Event last night.\u00a0 Several of the CAD bloggers had a chance to talk with both CEOs for a considerable length of time.<\/p>\n<p>As some are aware, Sicot is a SolidWorks user.\u00a0 In Sales, he may be called upon to demonstrate the product.\u00a0 During our conversion, I asked Sicot if he is a CSWP (<a title=\"Certified SolidWorks Professional\" href=\"http:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/sw\/support\/797_ENU_HTML.htm\" target=\"_self\">Certified SolidWorks Professional<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0His first answer was a sheepish smile.\u00a0 After reminding him that Jeff Ray (previous CEO of SolidWorks)\u00a0has his certification, Sicot lamented, &#8220;I should have my CSWP.&#8221;\u00a0 In front of Charles and others, Sicot\u00a0then added, &#8220;I will have my CSWP before the next SolidWorks World.&#8221;\u00a0 I must give kudos to Sicot for stepping up to the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>He is a busy person right now.\u00a0 Since his promotion, he has been doing double duty\u00a0both as CEO of SolidWorks and also still as EVP of Global Sales (until his replacement is found).\u00a0 With those responsibilities, I don&#8217;t expect him to earn his CSWP within the next couple of months.\u00a0\u00a0Becoming a\u00a0CSWP by this time next year does seem realistic.<\/p>\n<p>The CSWP is important since it\u00a0demonstrates that\u00a0a person as a firm understanding of how to use SolidWorks core functions.\u00a0 Sicot&#8217;s spontaneous declaration (that he will earn his CSWP)\u00a0isn&#8217;t a stunt, in my opinion.\u00a0 It seems to be born out of a genuine desire to connect to SolidWorks users.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At SolidWorks World, there are a lot of events.\u00a0 One of the more interesting events is the Press Event.\u00a0 This event is held in honor of the Press attendees.\u00a0 It gives them a chance to connect directly with SolidWorks employees and leadership.\u00a0 Bernard Charles, CEO of Dassault\u00a0Systemes,\u00a0and Bertrand Sicot, CEO of the SolidWorks subsidiary, were &hellip;
