{"id":1094,"date":"2010-04-07T06:21:43","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T14:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=1094"},"modified":"2010-04-03T16:54:07","modified_gmt":"2010-04-04T00:54:07","slug":"plug-for-enhancement-requests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=1094","title":{"rendered":"Plug for Enhancement Requests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In past articles, I&#8217;ve mentioned some enhancement requests (ER&#8217;s) for SolidWorks.\u00a0 Most (All?) of the enhancement requests I&#8217;ve made are now SPR&#8217;s, which are slated for some action at some time in the future.\u00a0 To get the ball rolling on these requests, I&#8217;d like to invite others to vote for these changes in the Customer Portal.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not going to provide links to my requests, as they wouldn&#8217;t work anyway with the Customer Portal&#8217;s java script.\u00a0\u00a0 I will mention a brief description of each change, and bold keywords which may be used to easily find the open SPR&#8217;s in the Customer Portal.\u00a0 These are my requests, many of which I&#8217;ve talked about prior to submitting them to the ER system.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support new <strong>ASME Y14.5<\/strong>-2009 <strong>symbols <\/strong>on drawings and models.<\/li>\n<li>Option to force <strong>captilization <\/strong><em>(note the misspelling) <\/em>of annotation notes on drawings (<a title=\"Capitalization of letters\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=260\" target=\"_blank\">original article<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Add CR (<strong>Controlled Radius<\/strong>) symbol (<a title=\"Controlled Radius\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=247\" target=\"_blank\">original article<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Support <strong>External Threads<\/strong> as an actual feature similar to Hole Wizard (<a title=\"External threads\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/?p=256\" target=\"_blank\">original article<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>and a new one (no SPR yet), the ability to auto insert angle dimensions and values in sketch mode, just as we can already do with linear dimensions.\u00a0 (This was inspired by a recent article by <cite id=\"dsq-cite-41764350\"><a title=\"Deelip on sketching\" href=\"http:\/\/www.deelip.com\/?p=1724\" target=\"_blank\">Deelip Menezes,<\/a> <\/cite>in which he apparently misjudged SolidWorks dimension capabilities in sketch mode, but ended up finding a good candidate for an ER anyway.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have other SPR&#8217;s, but these are the ones that are actually enhancement related (as opposed to bugs or workflow annoyances).\u00a0 Please visit the <strong><a title=\"Customer Portal\" href=\"https:\/\/customercenter.solidworks.com\" target=\"_blank\">Customer Portal<\/a><\/strong> soon.\u00a0 Choose &#8220;Enhancement Requests&#8221;.\u00a0 In the ER search field, enter the bolded keyword(s) for each of the requests above.\u00a0 Then pick and vote for the associated SPR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In past articles, I&#8217;ve mentioned some enhancement requests (ER&#8217;s) for SolidWorks.\u00a0 Most (All?) of the enhancement requests I&#8217;ve made are now SPR&#8217;s, which are slated for some action at some time in the future.\u00a0 To get the ball rolling on these requests, I&#8217;d like to invite others to vote for these changes in the Customer &hellip;
