Media <\/a>has blossomed in the Information Age.\u00a0\u00a0There is a lot of variety available.\u00a0 SolidWorks Legion is now automatically published to several outlets in one form or another.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Old fashion RSS Feed\" href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/fcsuper\/RyJP\">RSS feed<\/a>, with a partial or full preview.\u00a0 It has been employed for republishing snippets at a variety of sites, including <a title=\"SolidMentor\" href=\"http:\/\/solidmentor.com\/modules\/xhld0\/\">SolidMentor<\/a>, and is the backbone for several other feed systems, including personalized sites like <a title=\"Netvibes, create your personal newletter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.netvibes.com\">Netvibes<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/fcsuper\">Twitter<\/a>, with title and link.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"SolidWorks Legion on Tumbr\" href=\"http:\/\/fcsuper.tumblr.com\/\">Tumblr<\/a>, with title and link.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Posterous\" href=\"http:\/\/fcsuper.posterous.com\/\">Posterous<\/a>, with title and link.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"SolidWorks Legion on Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/SolidWorks-Legion\/192632415559\">Facebook<\/a>, with partial preview (a\u00a0Facebook\u00a0app is also available, though I&#8217;ve not seen use for this yet)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"SolidWorks Legion on Google+\" href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/b\/109823513877180220801\/#\">Google+<\/a>, with partial preview (not automatically published at this time)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Matthew Lorono Linkedin Profile\" href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/profile\/view?id=19171528&amp;authType=name&amp;authToken=FHqh&amp;locale=en_US&amp;pvs=pp&amp;trk=ppro_viewmore\">Linkedin<\/a>, via my Profile page with partial preview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The amazing thing is the SolidWorks Legion has followers on all of these sites.\u00a0 Many of the followers are the same across the sites, but many are not.\u00a0 Though Facebook is has become the de facto standard, its top status is by no means guaranteed in the long run.\u00a0 Due to the nature of Twitter, Facebook and Google+, the content of each of these outlets varies a bit beyond the articles that are publised on SolidWorks Legion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/fcsuper\/RyJP\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Twitter,\u00a0I publish SolidWorks Legion\u00a0content to my personal Twitter account, fcsuper.\u00a0 I talk about a lot of different things through my Twitter account, many of which have nothing to do with SolidWorks, CAD or Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>SolidWorks Legion uses Tumblr and Posterous in a similar manner as Twitter, to post just the article title and links.\u00a0 Though followers are light on these sites, they do generate some hits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fcsuper.posterous.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3148\" title=\"Posterous\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/posterousbutton1.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Facebook, I&#8217;ll often post extra interesting links to other blogs and news articles.\u00a0 However,\u00a0SolidWorks Legion has not had\u00a0a Google+ page long enough to develop it&#8217;s own personality there.\u00a0 I like the formats of both Facebook and Google+\u00a0because they allow me to publish links in an attractive and informative matter, mixed in with additional content.\u00a0 They also allow me to crudely track the reach that each article\u00a0achieves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/SolidWorks-Legion\/192632415559\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-3151\" title=\"Facebook\" these avenues, another form of Social Media is taking off.\u00a0\u00a0SolidWorks Legion doesn&#8217;t have an outlet in these (yet), but image sites\u00a0have really expanded\u00a0in the past few years.\u00a0 Sites such as <a title=\"Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/\">Flickr<\/a>, <a title=\"Photobucket\" href=\"http:\/\/photobucket.com\/\">Photobucket <\/a>and <a title=\"deviantart\" href=\"http:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/\">deviantArt <\/a>have increased the social element\u00a0\u00a0with engaging tools such user generated contests, groups, favorites, comments, notes, embedded links, and other functions now common in Social Media.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/fcsuper\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Twitter (fcsuper)\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.fcsuper.com\/swblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/twitterbutton.jpg?resize=50%2C50\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" height=\"50\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/fcsuper\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"YouTube course, there&#8217;s the 800 pound gorilla in the room, <a title=\"My channel on YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/fcsuper\">YouTube\u00a0<\/a>(this link is to my personal channel).\u00a0 Again, SolidWorks Legion isn&#8217;t publishing there yet.\u00a0 YouTube\u00a0is now a tremendous resource for all sorts\u00a0of content, including thousands of SolidWorks videos.<\/p>\n<p>The average person involved in Social Media doesn&#8217;t need to think about the variety of options available.\u00a0 You can choose for yourself which medium is best to suit your style.\u00a0 A publisher needs to think about all of these outlets, to reach as many people as possible on their own terms.\u00a0 As such, sites like SolidWorks Legion post across multiple
